The Brief

ATG Media approached Moriyama wanting to engage a full service web design agency to provide a refresh of the Antiques Trade Gazette website.

The website needed to be aligned with new branding produced for the printed newspaper and also be mobile friendly (responsive).

The brief also included a request to improve the day to day workflows of the editorial team, by simplifying and speeding up their CMS experience.

The Solution

Moriyama followed a user centred design process – working closely with a group of website users – both readers of the gazette and business units who produce the website.

The user centred design process fed into an atomic design and build phase which allowed rapid prototyping and iterations – which were required to meet an aggressive deadline.

The CMS solution was built with Umbraco 7 - with editors benefiting from publishing experiences which were measured to be up to 60% faster than the previous system.

The Outcome

The new Antiques trade gazette website launched on time and on budget. Initial user feedback is positive with a significant uptake in subscriptions. We continue to work with ATG media on a regular basis to enhance their websites.

Just wanted to say thanks for all your work on the project over the past few months. You’ve been great to work with and we’re delighted with the result.
