NHS Blood and Transplant approached us when they were moving their organ donation website to Umbraco with a tight deadline around new legislation for donor opt in.
Already users of Umbraco, NHS Blood and Transplant wanted to select an agency with strong consultancy skills to work alongside their team - leading Umbraco development, ensuring the use of best practices. The site was also to be highly scalable to contend with the frequent traffic spikes experienced during national media campaigns.
Moriyama led an agile team combined of our consultants and NHS Blood and Transplant staff to break down the organ donation site into sprints - and collectively iterate towards a launchable MVP on a hard launch date.
Moriyama also designed and implemented a scalable Azure infrastructure for the site as well as version control and continuous integration. Extensive load testing was performed against the site to match anticipated traffic.
The NHS Blood and Transplant organ donation website launched on-time and within budget. It has successfully replaced the donor card and is used by the entire UK population to express their organ donation preferences.
